    Recipe Introduction


    This cake is easy, delicious, fudgy. I made it a couple of times. I made this into a tzitzis cake for lchaim when m. turned 3. cut a trianle out of cardboard placed on upper edge centered. took 2 ribbons 1/2 inch wide place them on the bottom inch or so spaced apart and then sprinkled the conf sugar on. carefully removed the ribbon and paper and had a tzitzis cake.... you can do this with any other stencil or design.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup all purpose flour
    • 1cup sugar
    • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoal powder
    • 1/2 tsp baking soda
    • 1/4 tsp baking powder
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 3/4 cup milk
    • 1/3 cup cooking oil
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 1 egg
    • powdered sugar


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease and lightly flour a 9 X 1 1/2" round or 8X8X2 square baking pan.
    2. In large mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add milk, oil and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed just until combined. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Add egg and beat 2 minutes more. Pour batter into prepared pan.
    3. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean. Cool cake on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove cake from pan. Cool thoroughly on a wire rack. To serve sprinkle with powdered sugarand transfer to a serving plate.
