Recipe Introduction
This is a firm-textured pie, not the typical pudding or mousse consistency of chocolate pies
List of Ingredients
- 1 baked 8" pie shell
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter at room temperature
- 2 squares (1 oz each) unsweetened chocolate
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
Instructions
- Melt chocolate and cool. In small mixer bowl, combine sugar, butter, melted chocolate and vanilla. Blend well.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating at medium speed for 3 to 5 minutes after each.
- Pour into baked pastry shell. Chill at least two hours. Serve with whipped cream and walnuts if desired.
Final Comments
Make sure you beat the mixture 5 minutes after each egg. Otherwise, it will not set up.
