    Recipe Introduction


    This is a firm-textured pie, not the typical pudding or mousse consistency of chocolate pies


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 baked 8" pie shell
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1/2 cup butter at room temperature
    • 2 squares (1 oz each) unsweetened chocolate
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 2 eggs


    Instructions


    1. Melt chocolate and cool. In small mixer bowl, combine sugar, butter, melted chocolate and vanilla. Blend well.
    2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating at medium speed for 3 to 5 minutes after each.
    3. Pour into baked pastry shell. Chill at least two hours. Serve with whipped cream and walnuts if desired.


    Final Comments


    Make sure you beat the mixture 5 minutes after each egg. Otherwise, it will not set up.
