    Billie's Beans

    This recipe comes from "Good Cookin' From The Heart of Virginia"

    2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
    1 large onion, choppped
    1 tablespoon butter
    1 pound ground beef
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 15 ounce can large white butter beans, drained
    2 16 ounce cans kidney beans, drained
    1 3 1/4 ounce can pitted ripe opived, crained

    Sauce
    1 cup catsup
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    2 tablespoons molasses
    1 teaspoon dry mustard
    1 teaspoon chili powder
    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 cup vinegar
    1/3 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper

    Saute green pepper and onion in butter; set aside. Brown ground beef slowly in same pan; drain. combine sauteed vegetables, ground beef and salt in kettle with butter beans, kidney beans and olives. In small saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients and heat. Add to ingredients in kettle and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.
