VIDALIA ONION CLASSIC CASSEROLE
List of Ingredients
4 large sweet onions, thickly sliced (about 1/2-inch)
1 stick butter
2/3 cup chicken broth
1/3 cup dry sherry
2 tablespoons flour
1-1/2 cups soft bread crumbs
1/2 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Recipe
Sauté sweet onions in butter until they are transparent. Add chicken broth, sherry and flour. Cook and stir; when slightly thickened, transfer to a medium casserole. Top with bread crumbs and both cheeses. Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly.
