    Cranberry Walnut Jam

    Recipe Introduction

    This is the best jam. I have made it several times and it is Mamaw’s favorite. I think it would be great on a bagel with cream cheese.

    List of Ingredients

    • One 12-ounce bag of cranberries (about 3 cups)
    • 1½ cups water
    • 2/3 cup chopped walnuts
    • 6 ½ cups sugar
    • ½ tsp butter
    • One pouch Certo liquid pectin

    Recipe

    Prepare jars, bands, and lids.
    Use exact measurement of fruit and sugar.
    Place cranberries and 1 ½ cups water in a large saucepan.
    Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 minutes.
    Stir in chopped walnuts.
    Add exact amount of sugar.
    Now add ½ teaspoon of butter to help reduce foaming.
    Bring mixture to a full rolling boil (a boil that does not stop when stirred) on high heat, stirring constantly.
    Stir in Certo Pectin quickly.
    Return to a full rolling boil and boil exactly one minute, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat.
    Skim off any foam with a metal spoon.
    Ladle into jars and seal.
    Follow a water bath method.
    Let stand at room temperature 24 hours. Enjoy!!!
