1 stick butter or margarine, softened
1-1/2 cups sugar
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
3 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powderl
1 pint sour cream
1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
Topping:
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (12 oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
Recipe
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 9x13" baking dish and set aside.
Mix together topping ingredients; set aside.
Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla. Mix in eggs one at a time. Add flour and baking powder; combine, but do not over mix. In a separate bowl, stir together baking soda and sour cream, then add to creamed mixture; combine thoroughly.
Pour half of batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the topping mixture over batter. Top with remaining batter and other half of topping mixture.
Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
