CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Recipe Introduction


Grandmother Rhodes' recipe, I usually doubled or tripled this recipe, often made as pan cookies.





List of Ingredients



• 1/2 C. shortening
  
• 6 T granulated sugar
  
• 6 T. brown sugar
  
• 1 egg
  
• 1 t vanilla
  
• 1 1/8 C. flour
  
• 1/4 t, baking soda
  
• 1/2 t. salt
  
• 1/2 C. chopped nuts
  
• 1 C. chocolate chips
  






Instructions



1. Cream shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla.
   
   
2. Thoroughly sift flour, salt and soda together and add to creamed mixture, add chocolate chips.
   
   
3. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls on lightly greased baking sheet. May shape into balls and flatten.
   
   
4. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.

Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
