List of Ingredients 1/2 C. shortening (1/4 lb. oleo) 1 C. brown sugar 1/2 C. white sugar 1 C. peeled chopped apples 2 eggs, beaten 1 C. nuts (she used black walnuts) 1 C. raisins, 1/2 C. boiling water, (pour over raisins & use liquid) 1 t. baking soda 1 t. baking powder 1/2 t. salt 1/2 t. nutmeg 1/4 t. cloves 1 t. vanilla 2 1/2 c. sifted flour Instructions Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients to mixture, add apples. Drop by tsp. 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees.
