Nana's Meatballs in Gravy

Recipe Introduction
My grandmother cooked on a ranch as a young woman. She believed in "setting a table" and always included from scratch, breads, cakes and applesauce.
List of Ingredients
1 clove garlic
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1 cup fine bread crumbs
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 T. minced onion
3 T. flour
1 pint sour cream
1 t. worcestershire sauce
1 4oz. can of mushrooms
Recipe
Combine garlic, mashed with salt, with the next 5 ingredients. Shape into 16 meatballs. In large skillet, brown meatballs in hot salad oil or shortening. Then remove meatballs. Saute onions in the same skillet 3-4 minutes. Stir in flour, then sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, and mushrooms. Cook, stirring until thickened. Add meatballs, turning to coat them. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
