Onion Dip
List of Ingredients
- 2 large onions (not red)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- few sprinkles of Franks Red Hot Sauce
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
Instructions
- Thinly slice onions and cut in half - about 3 cups
- Over medium heat, melt butter and oil in frying pan and add onions, spices.
- Saute 10 minutes, reduce heat to medium-low and continue to cook, stirring occasionally for 20 more minutes - onions will be brown and caramelized. Cool.
- Mix cream cheese, sour cream and mayo with mixer until smooth.
- Add onions and hot sauce and mix well.
- Serve at room temp with crackers, veggies, chips.
