Recipe Introduction
Here is a recipe I found for making apple cider vinegar before I
discovered
NT. Just find where you already are in the process and proceed from
there.
Note: I have never actually made it.
1. Wash, peel and chop several fresh apples. Mix sweet with tart
apples.
Mash them up for the juice.
2. Place them in a large enamel or glass container and cover with
cold
water.
3. Cover tightly and store in a warm place. Apples will turn to
cider
after 1-6 weeks. Skim off foam occasionally. (Add yeast, brown
sugar or
molasses to speed this up.)
4. Remove lid, cover with cheesecloth to keep out bugs and dirt.
Aeration
is important. Allow to ferment a second time until it smells and
tastes to
your liking.
5. Strain and pour into sterilized bottles and cork.
