Note: 1 pound of browned
sausage meat can be added if that is your family's
preference. Or 2 cans of oysters and 1 can of oyster soup
can be added if desired. The mushrooms essentially
replace the bread you previously used in making dressing.
Put mushrooms in food processor and process until
very fine. In skillet melt butter and sauté celery and onion
until soft and transparent. Add mushrooms and
seasonings and continue cooking. This will have the
consis tency and taste of traditional dressing. Can be
served as a side dish or used to stuff turkey, chicken, pork
chops or chicken breasts.
