    My own perogie dough

    Source of Recipe

I created this while searching for a "good" dough to use for perogies.

    Recipe Introduction

This dough is so easy to make and easy to handle.

    List of Ingredients

1 cup boiling water poured over top of 1 cup instant potato flakes, add 1/2 cup oil,1-1/2 cups milk, 2 1/2 tsp salt.

    Recipe

After doing the above gradually add 6 cups (give or take) of flour to form soft dough ball. Fill with your favorite filling, I use this one:
    measures are aprox.
    6 potatoes
    4 cups cheddar cheese
    5 tbsp cheese whiz
    salt and pepper to taste

Cut out circles, stretch a bit and place 1 tbsp filling inside, fold over and pinch edges to seal. Place on cookie sheet lined or sprayed to prevent sticking. Place in freezer till they harden a bit, once they are frozen, remove them and place in plastic bag or container until your ready to use them. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and drop perogies in and boil until they float to the top and are tender. Serve with butter, onions and sour cream.
