Grilled Banana Split
2 Tblsp dark brown sugar
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
4 firm bananas
1 pint vanilla ice cream
¼ cup pecans, toasted and roughly chopped
Recipe
Heat grill to medium-high. In a small bowl combine the brown sugar and cinnamon.
Cut the bananas lengthwise and crosswise, leaving the peel on. Lightly oil the grill. Place the bananas cut side down on the grill and cook until slightly charred, about 2 minutes. Using tongs, turn the bananas, sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mix and cook until the peels begin to separate from the bananas, 2-3 minutes more.
Discard the peels from the bananas. Divide the bananas among bowls, top with ice cream and sprinkle with pecans.
