Cheddar & Chive Biscuits

1 3/4 c. flour
2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1/4 t. salt
1/4 t. black pepper
5 T. butter, chopped
1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
2 T chopped chives or 3 T. bacon crumbles
3/4 c. buttermilk
Recipe
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and pepper. Rub the butter into the dry ingredients until mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Add the cheese, chives or bacon and stir to mix. Add buttermilk and mix well. Drop by large tablespoons into a greased baking sheet spacing 2-3 inches apart on sheet. Bake at 400° for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
