    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 cup butter
    • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
    • 4 eggs
    • rind of 1 lemon, grated
    • 1 16 ounce can sour red cherries, pitted


    Instructions


    1. Place all ingredients except cherries in one bowl. Mix. Transfer to ungreased sheet pan. Add cherries to mix and space evenly. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 1/2 hour. Cool and dust with powdered sugar.


    Final Comments


    Hint: Place a shallow pan of water in the oven while the cake is baking. Then the heat will not rob the cake of moisture.
