Tomato Rice Soup

List of Ingredients
- 1/2 cup finely 4chopped onion
- 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup butter1 (22 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 15 oz, can whole tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 1/2 cup cooked rice
- 1 16oz. can tomato paste
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1/2 tsp dill weed
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large kettle or Dutch oven, saute onions, celery, and garlic in butte until soft.
- Stir in flour, stirring until smooth.
- Add broth.
- Stirring constantly, bring to a boil.
- Add remaining ingredients and simmer 30 minutes
- Serve with grated Cheddar or Parmesan chees.
