    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup finely 4chopped onion
    • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/4 cup butter1 (22 oz) can tomato sauce
    • 1 15 oz, can whole tomatoes, finely chopped
    • 1 1/2 cup cooked rice
    • 1 16oz. can tomato paste
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 1/2 tsp thyme
    • 1/2 tsp dill weed
    • salt and pepper to taste


    Instructions


    1. In a large kettle or Dutch oven, saute onions, celery, and garlic in butte until soft.
    2. Stir in flour, stirring until smooth.
    3. Add broth.
    4. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil.
    5. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 30 minutes
    6. Serve with grated Cheddar or Parmesan chees.


    Final Comments
