    Broccoli with Garlic

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 large bunch broccoli
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • several cloves garlic, chopped


    Instructions


    1. Trim the end off a large bunch of broccoli. Cut off the main stem, peel it beneath the fibrous layer, and cut into bite-size chunks.
    2. Separate the head of broccoli into bite-size pieces. Wash the broccoli and place in a pot with 1/4 cup of cold water, 1 tablespoon olive oil, and several cloves of chopped garlic. Bring to boil, cover tightly, and let steam until the broccoli is bright green and crunchy-tender, no more than 5 minutes. Remove lid and boil off most of remaining liquid.
    3. Serve at once.
    4. You can mix this with cooked pasta, season it with red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese or eat as is.
