Apples, variety of your choosing
Black Cherry Soda (enough to cover the apples in the pan)
Cinnamon
Splenda
Recipe
Peel the apples 3/4 of the way down, leaving about a 1/4 of the peel on the bottom.
Core the apples.
Then place in the pot in a single layer.
Pour the black cherry soda over the apples
until the are barely covered.
Shake the Cinnamon and 1 or 2 pkgs of Splenda as generously as you like over the
apples and soda.
Turn the stove to High, until it comes to a boil, then lower the heat to just above a simmer, and let slowly cook until the apple is as tender as you
like.
(If you plan to reheat them in the microwave later then leave them a bit more firm than you generally like them that they don't get too mushy when reheated.)
Serve warm with some of the sauce.
