Berry Bars

List of Ingredients
- 2 cups berries, any kind or mixture
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter or margerine, melted
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine berries, sugar, water, lemon juice and cinnamon. Bring to a boil. Allow to cool, while bar base bakes.
- Stir flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, cinnamon and baking soda together.
- Work in melted butter or margerine to make a crumbly mixture. Set aside one cup of crumbly mixture for topping.
- Spread remaining crumbly mixture evenly in an ungreased 8 X 8 X2" baking pan. Press lightly. Bake for 20 minutes.
- Spread berry mixture over bar base. Sprinkle remaining crumbly mixture over the top of the berry layer.
- Bake for an additional 20 minutes.
