Brownie Cookies
Recipe Introduction
These chewy cookies are yummy. It's a Crisco shortening recipe.
List of Ingredients
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon warm water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 oz. package, or 2 cups, semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Heat oven to 375.
- Combine shortening, light brown sugar, water and vanilla in a large mixing bowl.
- Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Beat eggs into creamed mixture.
- Combine flour, cocoa, and baking soda. Mix into creamed mixture at a low speed until just blended.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Crop rounded measuring tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake one baking shet at a time at 375 degrees for 7-9 minutes, or until cookies are set. DO NOT OVERBAKE!
- Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes. Place sheets of foil on countertop. Remove cookies to foil to completely cool.
Final Comments
Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
