Double Chocolate Brownies

List of Ingredients
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/3 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 measuring tablespoons water
- 1 12-ounce package (2 cups) chocolate chips, divided
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- In a small bowl, combine flour, baking and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large glass mixing bowl, combine butter, sugar water and 1 cup of chocolate chips. Heat in microwave for two minutes. Stir mixture. If needed, microwave one more minute, so mixture is smooth and all ingredients are melted.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually blend in flour mixture.
- Stir in remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips, and nuts if desired.
- Spread mixture in greased 9-inch square baking pan.
- Bake 30-35 minutes.
- Cool completely.
- Cut into squares.
