Golden Peanutbutter Brownies

- 2 1/4 cups unsifted flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2/3 cup butter, softened
- 2/3 cup creamy peanutbutter
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/4 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 measuring teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
- 1 6-ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a small bowl, combine flour and baking powder; set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine butter, peanutbutter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract; beat until creamy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually beat in flour mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Spread evenly into well greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
- Bake 35 minutes.
- Remove from oven.
- Cool completely. Cut into two-inch squares.
Final Comments
If a frosing is desired, sprinkle top of brownies, when removed from oven, with 1 cup of chocolate chips. Let stand about 5 minutes, until chips become shiny and soft; then spread chocolate evenly over top of brownies.
