    Chocolate Cheesecake

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
    • 1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
    • 3 eight-ounce packages cream cheese, softened
    • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
    • 1 12-ounce package chocolate chips
    • 4 eggs
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

    2. Combine melted butter or margarine and graham cracker crumbs in a small bowl with a fork. Pat firmly on the bottom of a nine-inch springform pan.

    3. In large mixer bowl, or in Cuisinart, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add condensed milk, beat until smooth.

    4. Microwave chocolate chips about two minutes, then stir until smooth. Fold into cream cheese mixture.

    5. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

    6. Pour chocolate mixture into prepared pan.

    7. Bake 65 minutes. Placing a pan of water in the oven will help prevent cracking of the cheesecake while baking.

    8. Cheesecake will spring back when lightly touched when baking is finished. You may need to allow five or ten minutes of additional baking time.

    9. Cool to room temperature.

    10. Chill. Remove side of pan. Garnish as desired.

    11. Refrigerate leftovers.



    Final Comments


    I have successfully substituted low fat cream cheese and/or sweetened condensed milk in this recipe.
