    Chocolate Covered Cherries

    List of Ingredients


    • 50 cherries
    • 3 tablespoons butter soften
    • 3 tablespoons of light corn syrup
    • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
    • 2 cups sifted powder sugar
    • 1 (12 oz) package of semik sweet chocolate chips
    • 1 tablespoon of shortening


    Instructions


    1. Drain 50 maraschino cherries -- pat dry with paper towels
    2. Combine butter, syrup and salt
    3. Add powdered sugar to butter mixture and knead until smooth
    4. Shape 1/2 teaspoon of sugar mixture around cherries. Put onto waxed paper lined baking dish ..chill 2 hours or until firm
    5. Combine chocolate chips and shortening into top of double boiler and bring water to boil. Turn down heat to low and cook until chocolate melts. Dip each cherry. Chill until firm. Store in air-tight container
