List of Ingredients
- Potatoes
- salt
- Onions
- Celery
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork (sausage)
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 2 tablespoons worcheshire sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- uncooked rice
- salt
- red kidney beans
- can tomatoes
Instructions
- Cover bottom of heavy roaster or skillet with raw sliced potatoes. Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Add layer of each of the following: sliced onions, chopped celery
- Mix together 1 lb ground beef, 1/2 lb of pork (Aunt Katherine uses sausage for the ground pork). Season with teaspoon of garlic salt, 2 tablespoons of worcheshire sauce, 1 tablespoon of chili powder. Add this to the layers.
- Add layer of each: uncooked rice season with a teaspoon of salt, one can of red kidney beans
- Pour a #3 can of tomatoes or quart of homecanned tomatoes. Garnish with slice green peppers
- Cover and cook over low heat (300 degrees) for 4 hours.
Final Comments
Aunt Katherine said that she does alter the seasonings. There is quite a bit of salt. So season to taste.
