    List of Ingredients


    • 2 quarts of milk
    • 1/2 quart of water
    • 1/2 pound of sugar
    • 1/4 pound of butter
    • 1/2 pound of Carolina long grain rice
    • 1 pint of light cream
    • 5 eggs well beaten
    • 2 tablespoons of sugar
    • 2 tablespoons of vanilla
    • 1 egg (if needed to thicken)
    • cinnamon


    Instructions


    1. Bring to a boil: 2 qts milk, 1/2 qt of water, 1/2 lb of sugar, 1/4 lb of butter
    2. Add 1/2 lb of Carolina long grain rice and simmer for 1 hour stirring often when it starts to boil cut heat down so it just simmers, continue to stir
    3. After it has cooked for an hour and rice is done, add 1 pint of light cream
    4. Add 5 well beaten eggs, add 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 tablespoons vanilla to eggs and mix, add slowly to rice so they don't curdle, stirring continuously cook until thickened. If too thin for you, addd 1 more egg
    5. Remove from stove, top with cinnamon
