    Baked French Toast

    Source of Recipe

    Pat & Mrs. Feinthel

    Recipe Introduction

My friend Barbara Feinthel and I tweaked a recipe that was handed down to her by her grandmother. Easy and so so good!

    List of Ingredients

    6 eggs
1 cup low fat or fat free milk
3/4 cup your favorite flavored coffee creamer or unsweetend almond milk
    1 Tbsp. sugar/sugar substitute
1 loaf of Italian bread, sliced about 1 inch thick

    Topping:
    1 cup light brown sugar
    1 cup melted butter
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts (Optional)
    1/3 cup maple syrup

    Recipe

Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. Cut Italian or French bread into one inch slices and place in single layer in baking dish. Mix together the eggs, milk, creamer and sugar. Pour this mixture over the french bread, cover with plastic wrap and place in fridge overnight.

Before Baking: Mix all the ingredients for the topping. Remove the saoked bread from the fridge and remove plastic. Pour the mixed topping ingredients over the bread slices. Sprinkle with cinnamon & nutmeg if you wish. Place in 350 degree oven and bake until golden brown, about 55 to 60 minutes. Enjoy!
