    There was never a Thanksgiving or Christmas without Big Nanna's Cream Puffs! The tradition is carried on within our homes to this day!

    List of Ingredients




    Pastry:
    1 cup flour
    1 cup water
    5 Tablespoons butter
    4 eggs
    Custard Filling:
    2 cups milk
    5 tablespoons flour
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1 Tablespoon vanilla
    1/2 teaspoon almond extract

    Recipe



    Boil water and butter. Then pour flour into the boiling water & butter. Stir until it forms a ball of dough. Remove from heat. Add eggs & beat well. Measure 1/4 cup of batter & drop on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 400 degree oven until golden brown, aproximately 35 minutes. Cool. Cut tops off, pull out mushy inners. Fill with the custard filling.
    Filling: Put all the ingredients into a saucepan. Cook until thickened. Fill puffs. Sprinkle cream puffs with powdered sugar before serving.
