A family favorite. Good with meat loaf and just about anything else!
List of Ingredients
8 large baking potatoes
1 stick butter
3/4 cup half and half (may use milk)
1/4 cup shredded cheddar (Optional)
1/4 cup chopped chives (optional)Recipe
Peel and cut the potatoes in half. Place in a large saucepan and cover with water. Boil until tender. Drain, Mash the pottoes with masher or mash using electric mixer. Heat the half and half and butter on low heat or in microwave until the butter is melted. Add the shreded cheese to the potatoes. Mix well. Add the half & half mixture to the hot potatoes 1/2 cup at a time. Keep mashing until smooth and fluffy. Stir in the chives and season with salt & pepper to taste. Serve.
