List of Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Kilo green tomatoes
- 500 grams brown onion
- 3 red chillies
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup castor sugar
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard seeds
- 2 teaspoons fennel seeds
- 5 cloves
Instructions
- Dice tomatoes and onions.
- Finely chop chillies.
- Place all ingredients in a large heavy based saucepan. Cook over moderate heat stirring until sugar has dissolved. Simmer 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours. or until chutney has reached a thick consistency.
- Remove from heat and place in sterilised jars. Makes approximately 5 cups.
