    Buttercream Icing

    List of Ingredients




    1/2cup shortening
    1/2cup margarine
    1 1/2 tsp. clear vanilla
    5cup confectioners sugar
    2-3Tbls. milk

    Recipe



    Cream butter and shortening then add vanilla.
    Add sugar a cup at a time beating on medium speed. Add milk 1 Tbls. at a time and beat on high until fluffy.
    HINT: To cut the sweetness I usually add about 1/4 tsp. of salt dissolved in the vanilla.
    Makes 3 1/2 cups
    If I am not using it to decorate a cake with, I use all butter instead of butter and shortening.
