    Easy Cherry Cheese Danish

    List of Ingredients




    Pastry
    2 cups flour
    2 sticks butter
    1/2 pint sour cream

    Cream Cheese Filling
    1 cup whipping cream
    1 cup powdered sugar
    8 oz cream cheese (softened)
    1 tsp vanilla

    Cherry topping (for a short cut you can
    use canned pie filling)
    2 cups pie cherries
    1 cup sugar
    1/4 cup cornstarch
    1/2 tsp almond extract




    Recipe



    Mix like pie crust and refrigerate overnight or freeze for 1 hour. Roll out into large rectangle. Cut into 5 inch squares. Place cheese filling in center of each square and fold up corners to meet in the center and slightly overlap. Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Top while warm with 1 tablespoon of cherry topping. You may drizzle with icing.
    Beat all Filling ingredients until soft and fluffy.
    Bring cherries, sugar and cornstarch to boil. Boil until thick stirring often.
    Remove from heat. Beat in extract.
