Old Fashioned Fudge
List of Ingredients
3 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups milk
2/3 cups cocoa
dash of cream of tartar
Recipe
Bring to a boil. Cook until it cooks down to about half of the highest point reached on the side of the pan. Check for soft-ball stage by dropping a few drops in cold water. If it doesn't stick to your fingers, it should be about right. Remove from heat. I add a teaspoon of vanilla and 1 stick of butter. Beat until it loses its sheen. Add nuts if desired and pour into pan. Cool but check periodically so you can cut it. Sounds difficult but is easy.
