    Lace Cookies

    List of Ingredients




    1/2 c butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c regular oats
    1 egg
    2/3 c sugar
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 Tbsp flour (this is correct)
    dash salt

    Oven 375° greased AND floured cookie sheets

    Melt the butter and pour over the oats. In small bowl beat the egg and then beat in the sugar. Stir together the powder, flour and salt to blend and add to the egg mixture and then add this to the oats.

    Drop batter by Tbsp. 3"" apart on prepared cookie sheets and bake 8-10 minutes until golden brown.

    Let stand on sheet about one minute after removing from oven and then lift cookies off quickly with a wide spatula and roll around the handle of a wooden spoon. If they cool too fast, return cookie sheet to oven for just a minute.

    You can also put these over the bottoms of custard cups to make "bowls" in which to put a dollop of ice cream, sherbet, etc.
