    BROWN STONE FRONT CAKE

    List of Ingredients




    2 cups brown sugar
    1/2 cup butter
    3 egg yolks
    1 cup sour milk or buttermilk
    1 cup chopped walnuts
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    1 cup stewed raisins
    2-1/2 cups flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    3 egg whites, stiffly beaten


    Recipe



    Sift flour and spices together. Add baking soda. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately. Add nuts and raisins and egg whites. Bake at 350° until done.
