    CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE

    List of Ingredients




    1 pkg Duncan Hines deluxe deep chocolate cake mix
    4 large eggs
    1 tbsp vegetable oil
    16 oz cream cheese ( 2 - 8oz pkgs)
    3/4 c sugar
    1/4 c unsweetened cocoa
    1 1/2 c milk
    1 tsp vanilla
    2 c Cool Whip (thawed)
    -- shaved chocolate


    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 300°'. Grease a 13 x 9 pan. Reserve 1 cup of dry cake mix for filling. Combine remaining cake mix, 1 egg, and oil. Press on bottom and 3/4 way up sides of pan.

    Blend cream cheese, sugar, and cocoa. Add 3 eggs and reserved cake mix. Beat 1 minute at medium speed. Turn to low speed. Add milk and vanilla, mixing until smooth. Pour into crust. Bake 55-65 minutes or until center is firm. Cool to room temperature. Spread cool whip over cake. Sprinkle with shaved chocolate if desired. Chill at least 1 hour.
    (a good trick is to run a knife around your cheesecake when cooked to help prevent cracking)
    (can substitute 2- 9 1/2" round pans for the 9 x 13" and bake 40-50 minutes)
