    Amish Bread pudding recipe

    List of Ingredients




    2 cups day old bread cubes
    2 cups milk
    1/4 cup of sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    3 tablespoons butter
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

    Recipe



    Place cubes of bread in greased baking dish.
    Scald milk and add butter and sugar.
    Beat eggs and add salt & vanilla & nutmeg.
    Pour milk mixture over beaten eggs and mix well.
    Blend mixture and bread crumbs, place baking dish in a pan of hot water and bake at 350º for 1 hour, a knife should come out clean.
    Serve hot with cream.
