    Source of Recipe

    My Grannie

    Recipe Introduction

My Grannie made these biscuits every day! They are simple and just plain good with everything!

    List of Ingredients

    • 1/3 cup of lard or shortening
    • 2 cups self-rising flour (must be self-rising)
    • 1 cup buttermilk

    Instructions

    1. Put flour in bowl and make a well in the center, add shortening and milk.
    2. Squeeze ingredients through your fingers until a soft dough forms.
    3. Place on floured surface and pat out to 1/2in thickness. Cut with 2" cutter.
    4. Place in preheated 350 degree oven for 10 mins or until golden.
    5. SERVE HOT OUT OF THE OVEN!!

    Final Comments

I hope that this encourages everyone to look into their Grannie's old recipe books and find out simple food was back in the "good ole days"
