This a wonderful caramel custard that is Mexican tradition!
List of Ingredients
1-1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 can (14 oz.) condensed milk (not evaporated
1 cup water
1 tsp. vanilla or rum extract
Instructions
Carmelize sugar by pouring into heavy skillet and stirring frequently with a WOODEN spoon over low flame until sugar melts and turns golden brown.
Pour sugar immediately into 1-quart casserole, coating bottom and sides evenly (accomplished by holding casserole dish in your hands and tilting to cover).
Allow sugar to cool and prepare custard: beat eggs, add milk, water, and vanilla.
Pour into casserole and set casserole into larger pan containing 1-inch of hot water.
Bake in 350* oven for 1-1 1/2 hours or until inserted knife in center comes out clean.
