**Nutty Apple Crisp**
A great alternative to Apple Pie! Serve just as is, with ice cream, or sour cream!
List of Ingredients
- 5 cups thinly sliced tart apples
- 2 Tbsps. lemon juice
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1 dash salt
- 1/2 cup butter or margerine, softened
- 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350*
- Toss apples with lemon juice and water in a shallow 2 quart baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, sugar, nutmeg, and salt. Mix to blend thoroughly. Cut in butter or margerine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix in walnuts. Crumble over apples to cover completely.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until top is lightly browned. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Final Comments
Makes a 2 quart crisp.
