Steak and Onion Pie

1 cup sliced onions
14-1/2 cup oil
1 lb. round steak, cubed
1/4 cup flour
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 cups diced potatoes
2 1/2 cups boiling water
Dough for a single crust pie
Recipe
Cook onion slowly in oil until tender. Set aside. Combine flour salt and pepper. Toss in meat. Brown meat in drippings, adding oil if necessary. Add boiling water. Cover and simmer for one hour. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Add potatoes. Cook 10 minutes. Pour into a greased round, 2 qt. casserole dish. Top with onions. Cover with pie crust. Crimp and cut slits into crust. Bake 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
