    Recipe Introduction


    Favorite of Schillig and Loehr children, and their parents. Best to advise little ones that they are yucky if you want to eat any.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/4 c. quick cooking oats
    • 1 c flour
    • 1 c sugar
    • 1 c chopped walnuts
    • 3/4 c butter, softened
    • 1/2 c backed brown sugar
    • 1 c black raspberry jam or jelly
    • 1/3 c sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1 8 oz. package cream cheese softened
    • 1 c. coconut


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 350 degrees
    2. Mix oats, flour, 1 c granulated sugar, the coconut, nuts, butter and brown sugar until crumbly; reserve 1 1/2 cups.
    3. Pat remaining curmbly mixture in ungreased rectangular pan, 13 x 0.
    4. Bake 15 minutes; cool 5 minutes.
    5. Spread with jam.
    6. Mix 1/3 cup sugar, the egg and cream cheese; pour over jam.
    7. Sprinkle with reserved crumbly mixture.
    8. bake until top is golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes; cool.
    9. Cut into bars, about 2 x 1/1/2 inches. Makes 36 bars.
