Recipe Introduction
serves 4
List of Ingredients
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 scant tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped dill, fresh
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 2 long, slender cucumbers, sliced thin
- 1 small onion, the same diameter as the cucumber, or whatever
- More chopped fresh dill for garnish, if desired
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, sugar, vinegar, dill, pepper, salt, and celery seed: blend
- Pare the cucumber and slice as thin as possible-an old-fashioned potato slicer is good for this, or use the slicing blade on your food processor
- Clean the onion, but slice it by hand, a bit thicker than the cucumber
- Add the vegetables to the sour cream mixture and toss lightly.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours so the cucumbers can absorb the dressing.
- Sprinkle with additional dill if desired and serve
