    1/2 pound extra lean ground beef
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1/2 cup green bell pepper -- chopped
    2 cloves garlic -- minced
    2 cups macaroni -- whole wheat
    1/2 cup water
    1 teaspoon ground cumin
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    2 cups canned tomatoes -- undrained, chopped
    8 ounces tomato sauce -- sugar free
    5 ounces tomato paste -- sugar free
    1 cup cheddar cheese, lowfat -- sharp, shredded
    15 1/4 ounces red kidney beans, canned -- or Pinto Beans

    Cook first 4 ingredients in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat until meat is browned, stirring until meat crumbles. Drain well; wipe drippings from Dutch oven with a paper towel.
    Return beef mixture to Dutch oven; add macaroni and next 10 ingredients; stir well.
    Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Spoon into individual serving bowls; sprinkle 2 tablespoons cheese over each serving.
    8 servings @309.3 calories, 6.4 grams fiber, 7 grams fat,17.4 grams protein
