    2 cups boiling water
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1 cup oatmeal (quick cooking)
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    2 teaspoons salt
    1/4 cup margarine
    2 packages yeast
    5-6 cups white bread flour

    Recipe



    In a large bowl put whole wheat flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, salt and margarine. Mix together and pour boiling water over all. Stir to mix and let until lukewarm. Meanwhile, proof yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Add to cooled mixture. Add remaining flour to form a stiff dough. Knead for TEN minutes. Place in greased bowl and cover with towel. Let rise for an hour or until doubled. Punch down, divide into 2 parts. Form loaves and place in greased bread pans. Cover and let rise until doubled. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes. Remove from pans and greased top of loaves with butter.
