Butterscotch Nut Bread

List of Ingredients
- 2 qts. flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 4 eggs
- 4 cups sugar
- 1 qt. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 cups chopped nuts
Instructions
- Sift together, flour, soda, baking powder and salt.
- Add nuts, mix well. Beat eggs, add sugar and shortening; gradually beating after each addition.
- Add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk.
- Mix to a smooth batter, but avoid overbeating.
- Bake @350 degrees for 1 hr.
- Freezes nicely.
