    1/4 c shortening
    1 c sugar
    1 2/3 c flour
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 c milk
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/4 tsp almond extract
    2 beated egg whites


    Recipe

    Cream shortening and sugar together. Mix, sift flour, baking powder,
    and add milk alternatively. Next, add vanilla and almond extract.
    Gently fold in the egg whites. Pour into a narrow, greased baking
    pan. Bake in oven at 350* for 30 - 40 minutes.
