This recipe took first place at the Humboldt County Fair!





List of Ingredients



• 2 cups sifted flour
  
• 1/2 tsp. salt
  
• 2 tsp. baking powder
  
• 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  
• 1/2 cup solid shortening
  
• 1/2 cup sugar
  
• 1 egg beaten
  
• 3/4 cup thick applesauce
  
• 1 cup gumdrops, cut in small pieces (discard black ones)
  
• 1 cup raisins
  






Instructions



1. Sift flour, salt, baking powder and cinnamon; set aside.
   
2. Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and applesauce. Mix well.
   
3. Add flour mixture and stir until well blended.
   
4. Stir in gumdrops and raisins. Drop by rounded teaspoon 2" apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.
   
5. Bake @400 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
