3C flour
1/2 C poppy seeds
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 C butter, softened
2/3 C sugar
1 egg, seperated
2 TBS lemon zest
1/4 C lemon juice
1/3 C sugar, to decorate
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350° F. Line baking sheets with parchment. Mix flour, poppy seeds, and salt. Creautter and sugar until light, beat in egg yolk. Add lemon zest and juice. Fold in flour mixture and blend well. Divide dough in half and roll each piece on a lightly floured surface to 1/8 t 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cutter and place on cookie sheets. Brush tops with beaten egg whites and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden with light brown edges.
